Searching Google for the Best Pizza in the World from pizzatherapy.com

Image
I was doing a little pizza research recently. So, I decided to search the Internet for the best pizza . I immediately went to my favorite search engine (Google) and typed in: " best pizza ". I was somewhat amazed at the #1 result of over 65,000,000 websites. There in the #1 spot was Pizza Therapy. Then I thought I would look for the best pizza in the United States. My next search was for: " the best pizza in the east ". Again at the #1 spot out of 1,600,000 sites was: Pizza Therapy. My next search was for " best pizza in the central US ". At #1 in the search results out of 2,580,000 sites was once more: Pizza Therapy. Then I decided to search for the " best pizza in the west US ". Out of 1,290,000 sites, Pizza Therapy. again came out on top. Hmm. I'm starting to see a pattern here. I figured I might as well try to find the " best international pizza " so I typed that in the search box. Out of 2,560,000 ...

Marechiaro's Original Italian Food Makes Incredible Pizza

Image
A member of The Pizza Therapy Community, our man Coda , shares his insights on The Best Pizza in the World: For the past fifteen years or so, there was a place out in Riverside (It's gone now) that was probably entitled to claim that they made my "Favorite" pizza. I wouldn't go so far as to claim that they were the "World's Best" but it was darn good. Driving on the 91 fwy during rush hour made it difficult to visit them very often and now the restaurant is gone. (sigh) Oh well. Anyway, I'd never found a pizza I would call "World's Best Pizza" before I tasted the pizza from Marechiaros . They say it sort of like "Mary Key Ahrrows" but with an Italian accent. I've tried both their red and white sauce pizzas. Unbelievable. The red sauce is mild and slightly tangy but has a definite "Oomph" too it. Hard to describe. I call it "mmmMMMmmm" sauce. It's just plain good and it always seems to m...

Recovery Room: Sail on to Pizza Paradisio

Image
A mushroom Pizza from Recovery Room, New London Connecticut New London, Connecticut is known for being a safe harbor. The place is steeped in sailing tradition. You can find a wide range of incredible seafood at the World Famous, Captain Scott's and other clam shacks. But, New London also is the home of great pizza. One of the best kept pizza secrets is served at the Recovery Room . Located on 445 Ocean Avenue, the Recovery Room is right down the street from Lawrence and Memorial Hospital. The pizza is thin Neapolitan, with a crispy, yet light crust. We opted for the basic mushroom and a pepperoni. The pizzas were memorable. I have long been a fan of the Recovery Room and whenever, I'm in town, it is one of my first stops. The crust has just the right amount of char. The pizza almost tastes as if it came out of a brick oven. The Recovery Room Crust The toppings are fresh with just the right combination of spices. The taste is consistently good. The Recovery Room has a number...

What Is your Favorite Pizza?

Discovering what pizza fans favorite pizza is, has always been exciting and controversial. Let's face it: everyone has their own strong opinion when it comes to pizza. And that's the way I like it! In scientific polls I have conducted in the past, pepperoni has always come out on top. Sausage, mushrooms and cheese have always taken a back seat. Anchovies are the least favorite of all pizza toppings. I've always allowed people the option of at least six choices. If you have other pizza toppings that you feel should be added, please feel free to comment. If enough pizza fans feel strongly about it, we can always modify the poll. I want to encourage you to do your civic duty and vote. Let the pepperoni slices, fall where they may. I've always liked anchovies, but to be truthful they are an acquired taste. Please take a second to vote and I encourage you to post a comment. Vote in the sidebar on the right below the Food Buzz banner. You can also take part in a global pizza...

Who Makes The Best Pizza?

Image
This is a true tale of a recent pizza occurance. Here's what happened: I was interviewed by a food goddess for a radio show. The topic was pizza, of course. The conversation was going great as we discussed toppings, crusts and the best ingredients to use. I gave way all of my inside secrets. I held nothing back. I told her where to find my pizza videos. (Find how to make pizza here.) I explained where to find the best prices for pizza tools. I even revealed how she could get some extra crunch and snap to her pizza dough. She then asked who I thought made the best pizza. I explained that I liked my own pizza. "No" she said, "What pizzeria made the best pizza?" I thought hard and mentioned a couple of places that I thought were memorable. She was not satisfied with my answer. She wanted more. Much more. I tried to explain that like Peter Reinhart , I think there are only two types of pizza: good pizza and great pizza. We discussed several other pizza places. I th...

Who Makes the Best Pizza in the World?

Pizza is a universal food. Most of us grew up with pizza. All of us have an opinion about pizza. If you are from New York, it's New York pizza. If you are from Chicago, it's Chicago Deep Dish. The West Coast pizza fans have their own traditional Italian pizza as well as New Wave pizza. Of course if you are from New Haven, Connecticut, you spend hours debating who makes the best apizza: is it Sally's or Pepe's? Then there are those who favor Modern Apizza. New Haven pizza fans are fanatics. Woven across the U.S. are small pockets of regional pizza favorites. For example, on Long Island, New York, it's a type of pizza called Grandmother's Pizza. If you are from a certain area in Pennsylvania, you favor Old Forge, pizza. There are types of pizza for every different taste: there is thin crust Neapolitan pizza, and there is thick crust Scilian pizza. Chicago deep dish, is a pizza unlike an other. California pizza can be thin with unusual ingredients for unique tastes...
